Community Guidelines

Effective Date: May 1, 2026  ·  Last Updated: May 21, 2026

FlyByDate exists to create genuine, safe human connections during airport layovers. These guidelines are not bureaucratic rules — they are the baseline of respect we owe each other. Violating them harms real people and damages the community we are all building together.

Our Core Values

✈️

Authenticity

Be who you really are. Real photos, honest intentions, genuine conversations.

🛡️

Safety First

Everyone deserves to feel safe. We protect each other online and in person.

🤝

Mutual Respect

A "no" is final. Respect every boundary, every time, no exceptions.

🌍

Inclusion

Travelers come from everywhere. Discrimination of any kind is not welcome here.

What We Encourage

  • Honest profiles: Use current, accurate photos that represent how you actually look. Update your profile when things change.
  • Respectful conversation starters: Lead with genuine curiosity about the other person, not compliments on appearance alone.
  • Clear intentions: Whether you're looking for a coffee companion, a networking connection, or a romantic spark — be upfront about what you're hoping for.
  • Accepting rejection gracefully: Not every match is a fit. Thank the other person for their time and move on without negativity.
  • Reporting problems: If you see something concerning, use the in-app report feature. Reporting protects the whole community.
  • Checking in with yourself: If a situation feels off, trust your instincts and remove yourself. Your safety is always more important than politeness.

What Is Prohibited

Zero Tolerance: The items below result in immediate permanent account removal. No warnings, no appeals for the most serious violations.

🚫

Harassment & Stalking

Repeatedly messaging after being asked to stop, following users between platforms, threatening behavior of any kind.

🚫

Fake Profiles & Catfishing

Using photos that are not yours, AI-generated images, celebrity photos, or impersonating any real person.

🚫

Explicit & Sexual Content

Nudity, graphic sexual content, or sending explicit images or messages, particularly without consent ("cyber-flashing").

🚫

Hate Speech & Discrimination

Content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic.

🚫

Solicitation & Scams

Soliciting money, gifts, financial information, or loans from other users. Running any form of scam or financial fraud.

🚫

Minors

Any interaction involving individuals under 18, including the solicitation, sharing, or distribution of any content involving minors. This is reported to authorities.

🚫

Sex Work & Trafficking

Soliciting, advertising, or facilitating commercial sex work or any form of human trafficking through the platform.

🚫

Violence & Threats

Threatening harm, sharing violent content, glorifying violence, or encouraging self-harm.

🚫

Spam & Commercial Use

Promoting businesses, services, multi-level marketing, or sending unsolicited promotional messages.

🚫

Platform Manipulation

Creating multiple accounts to evade bans, using bots or automation, purchasing likes or matches from third parties.

Airport-Specific Safety Rules

FlyByDate is built for airports, and airports have unique safety considerations. When meeting a match in person:

  • Public spaces only: Meet exclusively in well-lit, populated public areas — terminal restaurants, gate lounges, food courts, or airline lounges with other guests present. Never agree to meet in a private vehicle, hotel room, parking area, or any secluded location.
  • Keep your documents secure: Never show your boarding pass, passport, or government ID to a match. Never allow a match to photograph your travel documents.
  • Tell someone: Before meeting a match in person, tell a trusted friend or family member the name of the person you're meeting and your location.
  • Trust your instincts: If anything feels wrong — online or in person — you are entitled to leave at any time without explanation.
  • Don't share your itinerary: Sharing your exact flight, connection details, or hotel with someone you've just met creates security risks. Share only what is necessary to arrange the meetup.

Reporting and Enforcement

How to Report

Every profile and conversation has a report button. Use it without hesitation. Reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team, typically within 24 hours. For urgent safety concerns, contact airport security or local law enforcement first, then report in the app.

You can also email safety@flybydate.com for serious concerns.

Our Enforcement Process

  1. Report Received Your report is logged and assigned to our Trust & Safety team. Your identity as a reporter is kept confidential.
  2. Review We review the reported content, message history, and account history. We may reach out to both parties for context.
  3. Action Taken Based on severity: warning issued, content removed, account suspended, or permanent ban and platform-wide block.
  4. Serious Violations Violations involving minors, credible threats, or trafficking are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement.
  5. Notification We notify you of the outcome where appropriate, while protecting the privacy of both parties.

Appeals

If you believe your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by emailing appeals@flybydate.com within 30 days of the action. We will review your appeal and respond within 10 business days. Appeals for zero-tolerance violations (CSAM, trafficking, credible threats) are not available.

Mental Health & Well-Being

Dating apps can be emotionally challenging. We encourage you to:

  • Take breaks from the app if it starts to feel overwhelming
  • Remember that your worth is not determined by match rates or messages
  • Block and report users who make you feel unsafe or degraded — instantly, without guilt

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 (US), or reach out to your local emergency services.
